What Is Full-Spectrum Hemp-Derived CBD?

CBD also is known as Cannabidiol is a compound that is extracted from marijuana or hemp. Hemp is quite a valuable agricultural commodity. It contains trace levels of THC or tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the intoxicating compound generally found in marijuana.

Broad-spectrum hemp-derived CBD has cannabidiol and different compounds that are present in the plant. However, THC is removed once the extraction is done and this is what makes it different.

Since broad-spectrum extracts generally have multiple cannabinoids, these are known to create an ‘entourage’ effect. However, this is without THC. In easy words, it is said that broad-spectrum CBD is a mix between CBD isolate & full-spectrum CBD. It has the entire spectrum of cannabinoids but does not have THC.

What is the entourage effect?

Though it might seem a lot complicated, this entourage effect is simple to understand. It is a synergy that is generally achieved by all components present in cannabis. Such components are known to work together and they can easily enhance the different benefits of plants.

Every compound can easily amplify the different properties and in the process, it mitigates its side effects.

There are several additional cannabinoids present in full-spectrum extracts. These are:

  • Cannabidiol acid (CBDA)

  • Cannabinol (CBN)

  • Cannabidivarin (CBDV)

  • Cannabigerol (CBG)

  • Cannabichromene (CBC)

Generally, the broad-spectrum hemp-derived CBD products are available at a lower price than the full-spectrum CBD products. It is quite a challenge for the different manufacturers to have consistent ratios as they use a full-spectrum extract.
